Places to See Around the Taj Mahal
Agra is a vibrant city filled with tourist attractions. When planning your itinerary, you must include some of the memorable places to see around the Taj Mahal, and not just focus on the monument of love. Some of the places that you must visit are:
- Agra Fort: Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, the red fort is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is made of red sandstone and is a wonderful example of Mughal architecture in India.
- Akbar’s Tomb: Akbar’s tomb is famous not only because it houses the remains of Akbar, but also because it is built in a manner that is completely different from all other Mughal tombs. - Fatehpur Sikri: Fatehpur Sikri is a city that was built by Akbar in 1584. It is considered to be one of the most majestic cities ever built by the Mughals and is a UNESCO world heritage site.
